We have commissioned our external data protection officer, Mr. Stefan Auer, to set up and operate an anonymous reporting system in accordance with the Whistleblower Protection Act (HinSchG).

The German Whistleblower Protection Act entered into force on July 2, 2023 (Section 41 on June 3, 2023) and transposes Directive (EU) 2019/1937 (Whistleblower Directive) into national law. It is Article 1 of the Act on the Improved Protection of Whistleblowers and the Implementation of the Directive on the Protection of Persons Reporting Breaches of Union Law of May 31, 2023.

The Whistleblower Protection Act protects whistleblowers and establishes uniform standards for reporting misconduct and for the protection of those who report it.

Employees in companies are often the first to notice misconduct and, through their reports, can ensure that legal violations are uncovered, investigated, prosecuted, and prevented. Whistleblowers take responsibility for society and therefore deserve protection from retaliation that they may face as a result of their reports and that could deter them from coming forward.
