ZGM takes over distribution of Saar Riesling wines from the Michael Frank Donatushof winery

Zimmermann-Graeff & Müller (ZGM), Zell, has assumed responsibility for the sales and distribution of the Michael Frank Donatushof winery since the ProWein 2017. With this semi-dry Feinherb Riesling wine made by a vintner from the Saar region ZGM has rounded off its portfolio.

Sophisticated grape quality is concealed in the feinherb Riesling wine made from grapes growing on slaty soils. Michael Frank from the winery of the same name carefully tends the vines by hand. A large part of the 34 hectares of the vineyard acreage is mainly fertilized organically.
As a professionally trained winegrower and viticulture technician he has managed the family business with great passion since 2003 and has been giving the wines his own personal touch. He complements the family business by adding the latest know-how and his newest innovative ideas. His parents Marie-Josée and Erwin, who ran the winery for many years, are there for assistance.
The family business began in 1868 as an inn with a grocer’s shop and some winegrowing. The Michael Frank winery is still in family ownership. In 1995 the Donatushof with its domicile in Konz-Kommlingen was taken over by the family.

Winegrowing in the Saar Valley

The Saar river has entrenched itself deeply into the slate mountains along the 25 km lower course between the famous Saarschleife and the confluence of Saar and Moselle thus creating steep slopes with slaty soil  -  giving rise to the wine terraces producing fine Riesling wines.
