Donatushof - Weingut Michael Frank
  • Saar-Riesling feinherb 0,75l

Fresh, fruity, earthy and sublime: the unmistakable symphony of delicious flavours of apple and mango with a hint of apricot and peach is rounded off by the finely nuanced and earthy flavoured acidity. The soft residual sweetness can develop in harmonious interaction with the cool dry and earthy slate tone.

    Donatushof - Estate Michael Frank

    Passion for wine since 1868

Founded as an inn with a grocer’s shop and winegrowing business, Michael Frank still manages the business in family ownership. Donatushof with its domicile in Konz-Kommlingen was taken over in 1995. The popular estate takes its name from Saint Donatus, the patron saint whose name means “divine gift”, and who protects the estate from all threats from the air: be it storms, thunderstorms or meteor impacts.

The basis of the estate is the 34 hectares of hand-crafted vineyard acreage. In order to guarantee sustainable land management the vineyards are mainly fertilized organically. Michael Frank favours puristic craftsmanship both in the vineyard and in the wine cellar thereby achieving maximum unique exclusiveness.

    Vintner Michael Frank

Michael Frank, the professional winegrower and recognized viticulture technician, has been ennobling his wines by giving them his own personal touch since 2003. With personal enthusiasm and empathy he is leading the longstanding family winery into the future and constantly developing it by combining traditional experience with innovative ideas. Alongside him are his parents Erwin and Marie-Josée who lead the estate for many years.

    Winegrowing in the Saar valley

The Saar River has harmoniously entrenched itself deeply into the slate mountains along the 25 km lower course between the impressive Saarschleife and the confluence of Saar and Moselle thus creating steep slopes with the typical slaty soils.

Not just the brilliant climatic conditions, but above all the blue Devon slate soil defines the particular bouquet of this Saar wine and especially highlights the unique and noble character of this terroir.

Michel Schneider de-alcoholised - The typical wine aromes were extracted carefully before de-alcoholisation. Thanks to the applied spinning cone column process the flavours were reintroduced to the de-alcoholised drinks.

Likewise, the Michel Schneider brand range will see the addition of a de-alcoholised red wine and a de-alcoholised white wine. The basis for this wine is the Cabernet Sauvignon grape variety which, prior to being de-alcoholised, had their typical wine aromas carefully extracted. By using the spinning cone column process, the de-alcoholised beverages had their wine aromas added again. Two tasty alternatives for all lovers of wine aromas who, however, do not wish to consume alcohol

The basis for this wine is the Chardonnay grape variety which, prior to being de-alcoholised, had their typical wine aromas carefully extracted. By using the spinning cone column process, the de-alcoholised beverages had their wine aromas added again. Two tasty alternatives for all lovers of wine aromas who, however, do not wish to consume alcohol
